Budget Module Overview

Datarails Budget Module offers a straightforward way to create and manage Budget processes, customize and streamline your budgeting workflows, design and implement budget templates and assign roles and responsibilities to team members for efficient collaboration.

The Budget Module enables efficient creation, execution, and management of your budget process. Each step is stored in the database, allowing quick creation of subsequent steps and facilitating comparisons and analyses of different scenarios and budget components. By automating the process, the module integrates all parts of budgeting, reducing manual work and human errors while increasing analytical power.

The Budget module is not enabled by default. If it's not available, contact the Customer Success Team for assistance.

Budget Module Structure

  • Budget Cycles - Create new budget cycles to represent any significant submissions in your budget process. Compare different cycles in dashboards and Excel reports. Budget cycles can be created from scratch or cloned from previous cycles as starting points.
  • Budget Files - Users can create or upload files in each budget cycle to store budget inputs such as Revenue or COGS. Budget files can be created using the "Budget Builder" tool or by uploading existing files. Once a new budget file is created, it can be split by a specific dimension, enabling different budget owners to contribute their portions effectively. This ensures collaboration and accuracy in the budgeting process.
  • Workflow - Link budget cycle tasks to a workflow to track their statuses per file and cycle.
