Datarails Certificate Course - Level 2: Data Mapper

This is an advanced course for Admins that teaches how to bring new data sources into Datarails by using the Data Mapper feature.

Pre-requisites: Successful completion of the Datarails Level 1 course or good understanding of fileboxes, dashboards, and database structure.

After completing the course, you will be able to:

  • Navigate the Data Mapper interface and use it to make changes to your database
  • Use Custom Columns to add columns to your database and edit existing ones
  • Add new data sources to your Datarails solution, such as a new legal entity or business unit
  • Add new scenarios, such as forecasts
  • Add and manage exchange rate conversions

The course includes the following sections:

Total time requirement: approximately 1 hour

Important:

We create a separate practice environment for every user who wants to take the course. You need the practice environment to do the hands-on exercises.

If you have already registered for the Level 1 Datarails course, then there is no further action necessary. You will use the same practice environment you have used for the Level 1 course and you can begin taking the Level 2 course immediately.

Please register here to request the practice environment, if you haven't done so yet. We will inform you when it's ready (expect 1-2 business days).

How it works

The course consists of a series of two articles followed by hands-on exercises. The articles are a combination of text, screenshots, and short videos and will provide you with the foundational knowledge you need to use the powerful Data Mapper feature.

The exercises serve two purposes:

1) you get hands-on practice with how to navigate the Data Mapper

2) they introduce concepts that are best understood when the are demonstrated.

Lastly, you complete a quiz consisting of seven questions. You will receive the digital certificate for the course when you complete at least five questions correctly.
