Filebox Lock/Unlock

You can lock a Filebox or a Filebox tag to protect your work from unwanted alterations by other users. When you lock a Filebox or a Filebox tag, you will be unable to:

  • Upload a new version with the same tag
  • Use calculate or auto-calculate for the same tag
  • Sync data for the same tag as part of an integration
  • Roll data forward or backward

Only Filebox owners can lock and unlock Fileboxes.
You can lock the Filebox tag via the Workspace or the Workflow.
You can not lock a Filebox from the Excel add-in.

Lock a Filebox

  1. Navigate to the Workspace and select the relevant Filebox.
  2. Click on the three dots ellipsis icon.
  3. When prompted, select 'Lock'.
  4. Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.
  5. A red lock icon labeled 'Locked' will appear, indicating that the Filebox is now locked.

Unlock a Filebox

  1. Navigate to the Workspace and select the relevant Filebox.
  2. Click on the three dots ellipsis icon.
  3. When prompted, select 'Unlock'.
  4. Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.
  5. The red lock icon will disappear, indicating that the Filebox is now unlocked.

Lock a Filebox tag from Filebox 

  1. Navigate to the Filebox and select the relevant tag.
  2. Click on the lock icon associated with the chosen Filebox tag.
  3. Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.
  4. The lock icon will change to a locked icon, indicating that the Filebox tag is now locked.

Lock a Filebox tag from Workflow

  1. Navigate to the Workflow and select the relevant Filebox tag you want to lock.
  2. Click on the lock icon.
  3. Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.
  4. The lock icon in Workflow will change to a locked icon.

Unlock a Filebox tag

Unlock a Filebox tag from Filebox 

  1. Navigate to the relevant Filebox.
  2. Click on the locked icon to unlock it.
  3. The locked icon will change back to the lock icon.

Unlock a Filebox tag from Workflow 

  1. Navigate to the Workflow and select the relevant Filebox tag.
  2. Click on the locked icon.
  3. Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.
  4. The locked icon in Workflow will change to a lock icon.
