Gauge Widget

The Gauge Widget in Datarails offers a visual way to monitor performance metrics, often used for KPIs. It mimics a speedometer to show where a value lies within a predefined range (e.g., red, yellow, green zones). It's ideal for dashboards tracking progress, performance targets, or risk levels.

Create a Gauge Widget

  1. Click the New button on your dashboard.
  2. Select Add Widget and choose the Custom category.
  3. Give the widget a unique name.
  4. Select the Gauge Widget, then click Next to proceed to the Widget Editor.
  5. In the Widget Editor, choose the table you’d like to use.
  6. Under the Values section, select the column you want to track.
  7. Add a Filters to refine your data as needed. The Gauge Widget will display default segment values.
  8. Click the Range button to adjust and define your segments:
    • Set the goal (always defined with absolute values).
    • Choose between Absolute Values or Percentage for defining segments.
    • Add or remove the entire segments as needed.
    • Adjust segment borders to refine their ranges.
  9. Adjust Colors.
  10. Customize segment colors to match your organizational needs:
    • Manually select colors for each segment.
    • Alternatively, apply your organizational color palette for consistency.
  11. Once all customizations are complete, click Save to add the Gauge Widget to your dashboard.
