Installing Datarails Flex for Mac

The first version of Flex for Mac, the Datarails Excel Add-in, launched in January 2023, marking the introduction of Datarails compatibility with macOS.

Although the functionalities are still evolving, Flex for Mac allows you to refresh reports, view up-to-date data, and submit updated numbers back to Datarails. You can slice and dice your data by changing filters and use our data drill-down capabilities to discover new insights that drive the business forward.

The following features, currently available in Flex for Windows, will be incorporated into Flex for Mac in future updates:

  • Adding new tables, lists, or functions
  • Rolling forward data
  • Publishing to dashboards or PowerPoint
  • Utilizing the Formula Builder

Troubleshooting

Ensure that the report was submitted to the Filebox using the Windows add-in version 1.3.6 or higher. If not, return to Windows, update your add-in to the latest version, refresh the file, and submit it again. Then, open the report on your Mac and check the results.

This issue may occur due to a conflict between the Mac and Windows versions of the add-in, as both cannot be installed simultaneously. Confirm that only one version of the add-in is installed. If both are present, remove one and try refreshing the report again. For instructions on how to remove the add-in from your desktop, please refer to the GIF below.
