The Audit Package Export lets you generate a complete, audit-ready evidence package directly from the Account Reconciliation screen. In a single action, you can export reconciliation balances, sign-off evidence, manual adjustments, and all supporting documents - for one or more entities and a selected period - packaged into a structured ZIP file you can hand directly to your auditors.
The export reflects the exact state of your reconciliation at the moment it is generated, so the package always matches what auditors see in the system.
Where to find it: The Audit Package is available from the Actions menu at the top right of the Account Reconciliation screen, alongside Copy assignees & due-date rules. These actions sit in the Actions menu because they apply across entities rather than to a single selected entity.
Generating an Audit Package
- Navigate to Month-End Close > Reconciliation.
- Click the Actions menu at the top right of the screen.
- Select Export audit package.
- Choose one or more entities to include.
- Click Export.
Only entities you have access to appear in the selection list, and you can select any number of them.
While the Export Is Running
The export runs in the background, so you can keep working — or even leave the page — while it is generated.
- The screen stays usable. While an export is in progress, the export action is disabled and an in-progress indicator is shown. You cannot start a second export until the current one finishes.
- If you stay on the page: the download starts automatically when the package is ready, and a confirmation message appears: "Your export is ready. Download has started."
- If you navigate away: a notification appears in the notification center (bell icon) with a download link. It stays there until you dismiss it.
- No email is sent — all notifications are in-app.
What's Inside the Package
The package is a single ZIP file, named after the entities and period you selected — for example, Reconciliation Export – US Ltd – Jun-2025. Inside, each entity has its own folder:
Reconciliation Export – [Entities] – [Period]
│
├── Export Summary.xlsx (only when more than one entity is selected)
│
├── [Entity A] – [Period]
│ ├── Reconciliation Summary.xlsx
│ ├── Manual Adjustments.xlsx
│ └── Supporting Documents/
│
└── [Entity B] – [Period]
└── ...Every Excel file opens with a short traceability block — Report Name, Export Generated At (UTC), Exported By, Period, and Entity — so each file is self-documenting.
Reconciliation Summary (per entity)
An account-level summary including trial balance, supporting documents total, manual adjustments, and final difference per account — with preparer and reviewer sign-off status and the supporting documents used. Additional reviewer columns are added automatically when accounts have more than one reviewer.
Manual Adjustments (per entity)
All active manual adjustments included in the reconciliation balance, with adjustment ID, name, amount, note, creator, and timestamps.
Supporting Documents (per entity)
A folder with every supporting document linked to the entity's accounts. Each unique document is included once, in its original format.
Export Summary (multi-entity exports only)
A cross-entity sheet listing every account across all selected entities, with each account's reporting-currency values and conversion rate for a single consolidated view.
What the Package Reflects
A snapshot of your reconciliation at the moment of export:
- Current reconciliation balances
- Current sign-off statuses
- Only active manual adjustments (not deleted, and included in the reconciliation balance)
- Only active document-to-account links
All timestamps in the package are shown in UTC.
Permissions
- Any user with access to the Reconciliation module can generate an export — no additional role or permission is required.
- Only entities you have access to are available for selection.
- If you have access to only some accounts within an entity, the export automatically includes just those accounts. Accounts you cannot access are left out of every file in the package, with no impact on the rest of the export.
Good to Know
- Trial Balance recalculation: If a Trial Balance rescan or recalculation is in progress for any selected entity, the export is temporarily blocked and you'll see the message: "Export is temporarily unavailable while Trial Balance is being recalculated. Please try again in a few minutes." Once the recalculation finishes, you can export as usual.
- If an export doesn't complete: an export will automatically retry once if it fails or takes too long. If it still doesn't complete, you'll be notified and can start a new export.
